Meet Our Founder
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Liza Osterdock’s love for baseball runs deep. Baseball isn’t just a game in the DR—it’s a way of life. From a young age, she was drawn to the mental aspects, the strategy, excitement, and spirit of the sport. In 1998, she moved to California, holding on to her passion for the game and a vision to one day make a meaningful impact—both on and off the field. That day has finally come.
Hi, I’m Liza—and I’m the founder of Next Level Nine. Thank you for being here.
I launched this platform to showcase how I bring a fresh, modern approach to player development—rooted in my background in technology, advanced baseball analytics, scouting, and compassionate leadership. I believe elite athletes are built from the inside out: through intentional training, mental resilience, and data-informed strategy. My mission is to bridge the gap between traditional scouting and cutting-edge analytics—ensuring the human side of the game works alongside advanced tools to help players become confident competitors and high-performing leaders.
As a bilingual (English and Spanish) woman transitioning from a 20+ year career in high-tech into a male-dominated industry, I also hope to inspire others—especially women—to pursue their own baseball dreams. Whether it’s working for an MLB team, scouting talent, or building tools to help athletes thrive—there’s space at the table for all of us. I aim to be a trailblazer for many.
Now based in Alamo, CA, I’m a proud mom to a college-aged son. When I’m not breaking down metrics or watching games, I stay active hiking, gardening, biking, and working out—and, of course, learning about the latest trends in baseball technology.
Beyond the diamond, I also founded The Liza Maribel Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering at-risk youth, underserved communities, and women recovering from abuse. Through scholarships, education, and essential support, our mission is to create opportunity and uplift the next generation—values that mirror everything we do at Next Level Nine.

Baseball has always been the game I love—and the foundation for how I lead, grow, and serve. My journey—overcoming personal and professional challenges, building from the ground up, and leading with intention—taught me that this work carries a deep responsibility: to develop high performers and strong, confident leaders.
I’ve invested in specialized training through Sports Management Worldwide in Baseball Player Development, Analytics, and Scouting, and earned certifications in Rapsodo Pitching & Hitting as well as SABR Analytics. These tools help me evaluate talent, track progress, and design individualized development plans using industry-leading data and modern tech.
In addition to physical and performance-based development, I’ve also studied Strategic Coaching, Mental Performance, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)—training that allows me to support players emotionally, mentally, and physically. This holistic lens helps me build trust, enhance communication, and foster environments where athletes grow beyond the stat sheet.
I bring a culturally aware, growth-oriented perspective—especially when mentoring international Latin players who are adjusting to new systems, languages, and expectations. I lead with empathy, clarity, and structure—offering honest feedback and consistent mentorship rooted in high-performance habits.
Whether I’m serving as a player development assistant, bilingual scout, or adaptive-skills coach, I bring the same values to the field every day: prepare thoroughly, coach with compassion, and align data with heart. I’m here to help athletes unlock their potential, integrate advanced tools, and succeed on and off the field—because development isn’t just about skill. It’s about who you become in the process.
